Podcasts

  • Looking for something that will make you believe in the paranormal? Check out the Night Owl Podcast. This self-labeled indy podcast is one of the best that I have heard in recent years. Host Stephen Belyeu and his crew go ghost hunting in and around Austin, Texas. Special shoutout to Sara Reeves, whose psychic abilities continually blow me away.
  • Looking for something lighthearted, real, and almost too relatable? Check out Ghost in the Burbs, a podcast and blog by Liz Sower. Ghost in the Burbs gives off the same vibes as reading under the covers with a flashlight in the golden years of your youth. Truly a beautiful storyteller, Sower will win you over by episode one (but keep listening after that).
  • Looking for something starkly human, in the best and worst ways? Check out I Survived, an A&E reproduction of harrowing stories of people who face death and survive. It highlights the beauty in our will to survive and how we overcome trauma.
  • Looking for something creepy and quirky? Check out Rattled & Shook, a podcast that tells real ghost stories. Although the stories are great, its hosts, Meredith and Aprile, are what make the show what it is. You’ll feel like you’re hanging out with two friends talking about the stuff that you love (ghosts, if you didn’t pick up on that).
